Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated PQ Test Technician I to join our team in Potchefstroom. This position plays a vital role in conducting tests and capturing data for Static, Dynamic, Environmental, and Insensitive Munition Tests. As a key member of our engineering team, the PQ Test Technician I will perform complex technical work, operating high-tech equipment and analyzing critical data to assess the performance and reactions of munitions under various test conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, the PQ Test Technician I will be responsible for the following key activities:

1. Executing Measurements
   You will be tasked with performing a range of measurements, including temperature, pressure, velocity, and acceleration, to capture essential data that supports the testing of munitions.
2. Operating Test Equipment
   The position involves working with specialized equipment such as high-speed video cameras, tracking radar, and X-ray machines to document the behavior of munitions during testing.
3. Performing Various Tests
   You will conduct and capture critical data from dynamic, static, and insensitive munition tests, ensuring all results are accurate and consistent.
4. Supporting Environmental Tests
   The technician will also support the execution of environmental tests, which are crucial for determining how munitions perform under various environmental conditions.
5. Troubleshooting and Maintenance
   An essential aspect of the role includes installing, configuring, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating test range equipment and instruments. You will be responsible for first-line maintenance of these critical tools.
6. Procurement and Quotation Generation
   The technician will be involved in procuring necessary test materials and consumables. Additionally, you will work closely with the team to generate quotations for test requests, ensuring that all costs are accounted for.

Qualifications & Skills Required:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:

• National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  A relevant qualification in electrical or electronic engineering is essential for this position.
• Experience
  At least 1 year of experience in the engineering industry is required. The ideal candidate should have experience working with test equipment, performing measurements, and supporting testing activities.
• Technical Competence
  A strong understanding of operating an oscilloscope and other test equipment is necessary. You should also be comfortable working with complex machinery and instruments.
• Safety Awareness
  Candidates must be willing to work in close proximity to weapons, ammunition, and explosives, adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Computer Literacy
  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. Experience with additional software tools will be advantageous.
• Driver’s License
  A valid Code 8/10 Driver’s License is essential for the role.
• Soft Skills
  The ideal candidate will have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, as well as strong planning and organizational abilities. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strong client relationships are important.
• Flexibility & Willingness
  The role may require travel to other testing facilities, and you should be open to working overtime when necessary.
