About the Programme
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering a dynamic internship opportunity for motivated students seeking practical experience in administration. This 18-month programme, part of the Group Corporate and Shared Services (GCSS) department, aims to equip youth with hands-on skills in public administration, financial management, and office coordination. If you are a Johannesburg resident pursuing or holding a relevant qualification, this is your chance to gain valuable workplace exposure while contributing to meaningful civic projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate administrative tasks, logistics, and office support.
- Provide secretariat services for meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
- Assist with financial management processes and record-keeping.
- Manage front-desk duties, including telephonic and in-person enquiries.
- Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

- Administrative systems and office management.
- Financial administration and compliance.
- Professional communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Event planning and prioritization of confidential tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 + National Diploma (NQF 6 or higher) in Public Administration, Logistics, Public Management, Finance, or Financial Accounting (completed with 360+ credits).
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Eligibility: Johannesburg residents only. No prior internship participation.
