Job Purpose
Are you passionate about engineering and innovation? Do you have the drive to eliminate waste and improve manufacturing processes? Unilever Boksburg is hiring a Process Engineer to play a pivotal role in transforming our factory to world-class manufacturing standards. Your mission: drive zero defects, zero waste, and zero losses while supporting the journey towards semi-autonomous teams and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to eliminate waste and loss, using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools such as Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Focused Improvement (FI).
  • Develop and implement technical and quality standards to ensure process consistency and line stability.
  • Analyse data using the Managing Manufacturing Performance (MMP) Code to guide cost deployment strategies.
  • Deliver training and coaching to line teams in problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Drive engineering projects, from new equipment implementation to process optimization, delivering tangible cost savings and increased efficiency.
  • Implement process safety standards, particularly for combustible dusts and other safety-critical operations.
  • Collaborate across teams to land innovations, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into daily operations.
  • Debottleneck processes and optimize resource usage, including manpower allocation.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or BTech in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing, especially in continuous processing environments.
  • Proven track record in packing line technology, optimization, and landing engineering projects.
  • Strong background in WCM methodologies, including AM, PM, and FI pillars.
  • Familiarity with HAZOPs and Safety Approval Systems.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and process control tools to support data-driven decisions.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of process engineering, automation, and design.
  • Expertise in process safety, quality control, and continuous improvement.
  • Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret complex data sets to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Passionate about innovation, efficiency, and delivering high performance.
