About the Role:
SMEC, a global leader in engineering, management, and development consultancy, is seeking passionate and driven Graduate Engineers/Technologists to join our Power and Energy Division. This role is perfect for recent graduates looking to build a rewarding career in infrastructure and energy projects that create real, positive change in communities.

Primary Purpose:
As a Graduate Engineer/Technologist, you will assist Engineers with technical designs, develop your project management skills, and contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Section Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects while learning from some of the best minds in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft high-quality technical reports and documentation.
  • Lead small teams of Technicians/Draughtsmen on assigned projects.
  • Offer solutions and suggest improvements on technical designs.
  • Represent and present your technical work in meetings and presentations.
  • Assist Engineers in checking technical designs, costing, and specifications.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within set timelines and budgets.
  • Inspect constructed works to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
  • Support with straightforward bid proposals.
  • Train and guide Technicians/Draughtsmen on software tools.
  • Manage project meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes.
  • Develop an understanding of local technologies and market trends.

  • Demonstrate growing awareness of project time and cost management.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or higher) from an accredited university or college.
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
