Job Overview
We are currently seeking three qualified Electrical Technicians to join our Maintenance Workshops in the Energy Distribution division at our Vanderbijlpark Works. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working in a highly technical environment supporting vital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct root cause analysis for breakdowns and operational issues
  • Apply preventative maintenance techniques to reduce system delays
  • Attend to and resolve electrical breakdowns efficiently
  • Participate in planned and emergency overtime when required
  • Follow up on plant defects and maintenance problems
  • Maintain and update electrical drawings and training manuals
  • Manage and execute CAPEX and OPEX projects, including scoping and procurement
  • Interpret and calibrate protection relays to ensure safety and reliability
  • Provide electrical support to HT and LT substations
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of 30MW and 40MW generators
  • Perform switching operations on 400V/3.3kV/11kV electrical systems
  • Utilize thermography and dissolved gas analysis (DGA) in equipment monitoring

Minimum Requirements
Education:

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 6 or equivalent)

Experience:

  • At least 18 months’ experience in an infrastructure or manufacturing plant environment
  • Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems and maintenance principles
