As we continue to grow and innovate, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated Calibration Technician to join our team in Rosslyn, Pretoria.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, the Calibration Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostics, calibrations, and maintenance of production tools and measurement equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring that all calibration-related activities meet the highest quality standards and production requirements. This is a vital position contributing to both operational excellence and continuous improvement within our manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing calibration plans for all production and measurement tools.
  • Maintain calibration equipment and ensure compliance with service schedules.
  • Keep accurate records of all calibration activities and ensure tools register is constantly updated.
  • Issue and track production and measurement tools, excluding hand tools.
  • Monitor and report weekly on tool performance using ToolsNet.
  • Conduct process audits, compile shift reports, and recommend tool repairs or replacements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and support problem-solving forums.
  • Promote a safety-conscious culture and adherence to the UD Production System.
  • Implement Kaizens and support continuous improvement and energy-saving initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork across business units.

Minimum Requirements

  • N6 or National Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Technical Qualification or AMIC Level 4 (advantageous).
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
