Your Mission
As an HSE Graduate Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of our HSE strategy in line with South African legislation and Faurecia’s global standards. You will gain hands-on experience in safety compliance, audits, training facilitation, document control, and continuous improvement initiatives across our plant operations.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Collect and report HSE data (e.g., FR1T, FR2T) monthly to the HSE Coordinator.
- Ensure proper distribution and documentation of Transversal memos.
- Promote incident reporting and ensure all near-misses and safety incidents are captured.
- Assist with HSE-related training and help facilitate internal sessions.
- Support the organization and minute-taking of HSE Committee meetings.
- Conduct audits, including OHSAS 18001 and internal safety assessments.
- Oversee general PPE compliance throughout the plant.
- Handle Injury on Duty (IOD) queries with the Department of Labour.
- Manage and issue work permits and support safe line operations.
- Maintain the HSE training centre and administer improvement ideas.
- Ensure daily compliance with HSE document control standards.
Your Profile
- Qualifications:
National Diploma in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, HSE Management, or relevant field. HSE short courses from accredited institutions also considered. - Skills & Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of HSE tools (e.g., AMDEC, 5 Whys, job instruction, audits).
- Familiarity with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18000.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Detail-oriented, ethical, and collaborative mindset.
- 2–4 years of prior HSE exposure (advantageous).
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
