Eskom invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Technician: Maintenance and Commissioning Protection at Matla PTM. Position Overview
As a Technician in Maintenance and Commissioning (Protection), you will be responsible for executing electrical protection maintenance and commissioning activities, as well as managing turnkey projects from planning to final implementation and re-commissioning. This includes ensuring the reliability and integrity of secondary plant equipment and systems at the Matla Power Station.
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- National Diploma or N6 in Electrical Engineering (Heavy or Light Current)
Experience:
- No prior experience required
Driver’s License:
- Valid Code B (essential)

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and monitor maintenance and commissioning of electrical protection systems
- Carry out operational duties related to the power station’s secondary plant
- Coordinate maintenance and commissioning activities with internal teams and contractors
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders
