Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is offering an exciting opportunity within our Manufacturing department for students requiring practical work experience to complete their National Diploma in Engineering. We are searching for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as In-Service Trainees at our Midrand location.
Job Description
The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment as per maintenance targets. The primary objective is to improve department efficiency, optimize equipment availability, and minimize downtime and risk within the manufacturing plant.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and adjustments to equipment as scheduled
- Assist in proactive maintenance and repair of machinery
- Adhere to safety standards and company procedures
- Participate in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives
- Support daily operations in the engineering and maintenance teams
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure plant efficiency
Knowledge and Skills
- A strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles
- Basic understanding of physics and mathematics applied in an engineering context
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Good decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
- Awareness of new trends and a willingness to learn and innovate
Attitude and Behaviour
- Demonstrates a passion for engineering and manufacturing
- Energetic, motivated, and has a positive outlook
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative and accept responsibility
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) with a minimum of 40% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science
- Passed at least two South African languages with a minimum of 40%
- Currently studying toward a National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- Completed all theoretical modules and now requires practical training for qualification
- Must not have previously completed an In-Service Training programme elsewhere
Additional Requirements
- South African Citizenship
- Must be an Employment Equity candidate
- Must have been unemployed at the time of appointment
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- A letter from the tertiary institution confirming the need for in-service training must be submitted
