TotalEnergies is offering an exciting opportunity for recent graduates to participate in its structured Young Talent Trainee Programme based in Johannesburg. About the Programme
The Young Talent Trainee Programme is a 24-month rotational initiative that allows participants to work across different departments. This structured approach helps trainees gain exposure to a wide variety of roles and responsibilities in either Engineering, Finance, or Retail Operations. The programme is designed to support the development of well-rounded professionals equipped with the skills and knowledge required for long-term success in the energy sector.
Participants will engage in training modules, mentorship, on-the-job learning, and real-world problem-solving. Throughout the programme, trainees will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to key projects, and receive continuous feedback to enhance their personal and professional development.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Complete technical, industry-specific, and professional development training
- Rotate through key departments to understand various business functions
- Shadow and learn from experienced employees
- Collaborate across teams to solve business challenges
- Engage in mentorship activities and provide input in project discussions
- Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous learning
- Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and a strong desire to improve
Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ)
Trainees are expected to actively promote and adhere to TotalEnergies’ HSE policies. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with all HSE regulations and guidelines
- Contributing to a safe work environment
- Supporting risk reduction strategies and key HSE performance indicators
Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualification:
- Matric certificate plus a completed B/BTech Degree in one of the following:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electromechanical Engineering
- Finance / Accounting
- NQF 5 qualification in Accounting Technician
Requirements:
- 0 to 5 years of work experience
- Strong academic performance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn, strong analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability
- Geographic mobility is an advantage
