At MSF Southern Africa (MSF SnA), we’re growing our operational and support hub and are now looking for a dedicated IT Intern to join our Johannesburg-based team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate looking to begin a meaningful career in IT, while contributing to a life-saving mission.
💡 About the Role
As an IT Intern, you’ll support the daily technological needs of our office, ensuring our systems and teams run smoothly. From troubleshooting and hardware support to managing backups and assisting with virtual collaboration tools, this role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic and humanitarian-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues related to network, hardware, and software
- Assist with setting up and maintaining video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, Bluejeans, Starleaf)
- Support antivirus updates, system backups, and general IT housekeeping
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and log support tickets
- Assist in setting up new user accounts and email lists
- Collaborate with the broader team on IT-related projects and innovations
Qualifications & Skills
- National Diploma or Degree in IT, Networking, or a related field
- Familiarity with computer network cabling, Office 365, and file/print services
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Interest in learning and working in a tech-support role
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar platforms is an advantage
