The National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA), a division of Eskom, is seeking to appoint a qualified and committed individual to fill the position of Technician within the Apollo Centralised Services unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the secondary plant is operated and maintained in a safe, effective manner in order to ensure a continuous and reliable supply of electricity.

Minimum Requirements:
Qualification(s):

  • National Diploma or National N Diploma in a Technical discipline (NQF Level 6 with 240 credits)

Experience:

  • P1 and P2 (Technical experience within the grid business)

  • ORHVS (Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems)

Skills:

  • Strong leadership ability
  • Proficient in Computer and Operational Technology (OT)
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to use fall arrest equipment safely

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure data integrity within operational databases
  • Provide technical support and services in line with departmental objectives
  • Conduct fault investigations and recommend performance improvements
  • Adhere to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards
  • Contribute to training initiatives and emergency preparedness activities
