Operating from strategically located facilities in Empangeni and Mtunzini, KwaZulu-Natal, the company is committed to developing the next generation of engineering and mining professionals.
About the Opportunity
This comprehensive Work Integrated Learning programme provides students with invaluable hands-on experience in their chosen fields of study. The initiative supports students in completing their mandatory practical work experience requirements (P1/P2) while gaining exposure to world-class mining and processing operations that contribute to everyday products including paints, plastics, and paper.
Programme Duration:
- University of Technology students: 12 months
- TVET College students: 2 years
Available Disciplines
The programme welcomes applications across six critical engineering and mining specializations:
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) – Power systems and industrial electrical applications
- Mechanical Engineering – Equipment design, maintenance, and process optimization
- Chemical Engineering (Mineral Processing) – Advanced processing techniques and quality control
- Mining Surveying – Precision measurement and resource mapping
- Instrumentation (Light Current) – Control systems and monitoring technology
- Mining Engineering – Extraction planning and operational efficiency
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must have successfully completed S4 or N6 qualifications in any of the specified disciplines. This opportunity is exclusively available to South African citizens who can demonstrate that work experience is a compulsory component of their academic programme through institutional validation.
Preferred Applicant Profile
Priority consideration will be given to candidates from specific Traditional Council areas including Kwa Dube, Kwa Nzuza, Kwa Mkhwanazi, Ogagwini, Somopho, Macambini, and Madlebe, as well as residents of Umhlathuze, Umlalazi, and Mandeni municipalities, reflecting the company’s commitment to local community development.
