The Opportunity
We are seeking one motivated and technically inclined individual to join our Arnot Power Station as a Learner Technician specializing in Mechanical Engineering. This is an exceptional opportunity to receive world-class training while working at one of South Africa’s key power generation facilities. What You’ll Experience
As a Learner Technician at Eskom, you will be enrolled in a structured learnership program designed to transform you into a competent and confident mechanical technician. This program offers:
Institutionalized Training: You will receive formal classroom-based instruction covering essential mechanical engineering principles, safety protocols, technical standards, and industry best practices. This theoretical foundation will prepare you for the practical challenges you’ll encounter in the field.
On-the-Job Training: Working alongside experienced technicians and engineers, you’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems critical to power generation. You’ll learn to work with pumps, turbines, boilers, piping systems, and various other mechanical equipment that keeps our power station operational.

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Qualification: Fully completed S4 or S5 certificate in Mechanical Engineering (trade test certificate)
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID document
- Commitment: Willingness to work in a power station environment and adhere to strict safety protocols
- Location: Ability to work at Arnot Power Station in Mpumalanga
