Tharisa PLC is excited to announce applications for our 2025/2026 Vacation Work Programme, offering tertiary students a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. This comprehensive two-month programme runs from December 2025 to January 2026 and is designed to provide hands-on experience in various engineering, technical, and operational disciplines.

About the Programme

Our Vacation Work Programme is more than just a holiday job—it’s a structured learning experience that allows students to develop essential business competencies, gain exposure to industry best practices, and acquire critical skills that will enhance their future career prospects. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real projects while building their professional networks and understanding workplace dynamics.

Available Disciplines

We are recruiting talented students in the following areas:

North-West Province (Marikana):

  • Mechanical Engineering (VAC002-ME)
  • Electrical Engineering (VAC002-EE)
  • Rock Engineering (VAC002-RE)

Gauteng:

  • BCom Accounting (VAC002-BCOMA) – Bryanston
  • Transport & Logistics (VAC002-TL) – Bryanston

North-West Province (Brits):

  • Chemical Engineering (2 positions) (VAC002-CE)

Limpopo (Rosslyn East, Limpopo):

  • Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) (VAC002-HSE)

Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for motivated, academically strong students who meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at a recognized University or University of Technology
  • Studying towards qualifications in the advertised disciplines
  • No prior work experience required in your field of study
  • Demonstrated excellent academic performance
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Medically fit for the role
  • Only South African citizens may apply

Preference will be given to applicants from local communities and labour-sending areas, supporting our commitment to community development and empowerment.
