Lesedi is inviting motivated and passionate Graduate Engineers to apply for the position of Engineer in Training – Control & Instrumentation (C&I) within our Nuclear Division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within Lesedi’s Design Group while contributing to high-impact engineering projects across the energy and industrial sectors.

Purpose of the Role

The Engineer in Training will support design and engineering activities while developing practical skills and technical competence. The role is designed to provide structured exposure that supports professional growth and progression toward ECSA registration. Successful candidates will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, gaining valuable industry knowledge and experience.

Key Performance Areas

Technical Competence & Learning

  • Apply core engineering principles relevant to Control & Instrumentation.
  • Produce accurate technical drawings, calculations, reports, and designs.
  • Apply applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Continuously develop skills in engineering tools, software, and methodologies.

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Contribute to project milestones and deliverables.
  • Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to engineering challenges.
  • Maintain clear and effective documentation of work performed.

Professional Development

  • Participate actively in training, mentorship, and learning programs.
  • Demonstrate progress toward professional registration (ECSA).
  • Show initiative in expanding technical knowledge and capability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant C&I-related field (e.g. Electronics, Mechatronics).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Practical industrial or engineering experience is advantageous.
