The East London Industrial Development Zone SOC Ltd is a State-Owned Corporation established by government through the South African Industrial Development Zones Programme (now the South African Economic Zones Programme) to develop, operate and maintain modern infrastructure and to complement attract strategic investments for the region.

Duration: Up to 24 months (subject to internship agreement conditions)

Our internship programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic qualification and practical workplace experience, providing recent graduates with the platform to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios while contributing meaningfully to our organizational objectives.

We are recruiting interns across multiple disciplines:

Safety Management (1 position) – Diploma in Safety Management

Electrical Engineering: Maintenance and Facilities (1 position) – Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy current)

Records Management (3 positions) – Diploma in Records Management/Achieves

Records Management: Administration (1 position) – Diploma in Office Management and Technology/Office Administration

Project Portfolio Management (1 position) – Diploma in Information Technology/Software Development/Civil/Mechanical Engineering

Project Industrial Development (1 position) – Diploma in Building/Civil Engineering

Supply Chain Management (2 positions) – Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Logistics

Science and Technology Park: Laboratory (3 positions) – Diploma in Microbiology/Chemistry/Biotechnology/Food Technology

Science and Technology Park: Design Centre (1 position) – Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering

Science and Technology Park: Research (1 position) – Diploma in Agricultural Economics/Economics

Knowledge Management (1 position) – Diploma in Business Information Systems/Data Science/Informatics/Knowledge Management/Information and Knowledge Management

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant diploma studies must have been completed
• South African citizen (preference will be given to applicants from Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality)
• ELIDZ is committed to giving preference to suitably qualified persons with Disabilities in the relevant respect/field of the internship
• Must not be studying full-time
• Must be unemployed
• Must not have relevant experience pertaining to your field of study
• Must not have participated in any other internship programme
• Must be between the ages of 18-35 years
• Preference will be given to top performers academically
