The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is offering an exciting internship opportunity for ambitious young South Africans ready to launch their careers in a dynamic public sector environment. This comprehensive programme is designed to provide hands-on experience whilst developing essential professional competencies in business administration, project management, and public sector operations.

About the Programme

Our structured internship programme offers meaningful exposure across various functional areas within CETA. Interns will gain practical experience in administrative operations, budgeting processes, audit preparation, and report compilation. This is not merely an observational role – you will actively contribute to our organisation’s success whilst building your professional foundation.

The programme features a rotational structure, allowing interns to experience different divisions and tasks within their assigned department. Your progress will be formally reviewed quarterly, ensuring continuous development and meaningful feedback throughout your journey with us.

Key Responsibilities

As a CETA intern, you will perform essential functions including handling correspondence and enquiries, maintaining records and files, and providing administrative support for budgeting processes. You’ll assist with data collation for monthly and quarterly reports, support audit preparations, and prepare meeting agendas and minutes. Additionally, you’ll contribute to preparing at least one presentation per quarter, gaining valuable presentation skills along the way.

Learning Outcomes

During your internship, you will develop comprehensive knowledge of CETA as both a corporate and public entity, including our mandate within the broader SETA landscape. You’ll gain practical understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks, including the Skills Development Act, PFMA, Tax laws, BBBEE, Employment Equity, and Affirmative Action legislation. This exposure will provide you with invaluable insights into public sector governance and operations.

We seek South African citizens under 35 years of age holding relevant post-matric qualifications from recognised institutions. Qualifying qualifications include ND Business Management, Project Management, BTech/Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, ND Management Assistant/Administration, or equivalent credentials.
