About merSETA
The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) is a Schedule 3A public entity established under the Skills Development Act (Act No. 97 of 1998). We facilitate skills development across the Metal and Engineering, Motor Retail and Components Manufacturing, Automobile Manufacturing, Plastics Manufacturing, and New Tyre Manufacturing sectors. We are looking for three dynamic administrators to join our Operations Division.
Purpose of the Role
To provide efficient and effective administration support within the Grants Management Unit, ensuring seamless processing of discretionary grants and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will liaise with internal stakeholders on payments, processes, and procedures relating to grants disbursement, keeping all relevant regions informed at all times. You will update DG/Project Contract Information and track Project Performance on the Commitment Register. You will prepare RFI documents for internal and external audits and upload project documents, including MoAs and payment evidence, onto TPIMS and SharePoint. Additionally, you will prepare memos, MoA Addendums, and payment requisition packs for discretionary grants claims, verifying all figures against supporting evidence and internal grant management processes before submitting to your direct report for review and approval. Capturing and maintaining the discretionary grants claims tracking register will also form a core part of your daily responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
A 3-year Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Business Administration, Finance Management, Accounting, or a related field is required, along with at least 1 year of experience in administration within Grants Management or Finance. A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) and more than 1 year of relevant experience would be advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
Candidates must demonstrate technical competence, strong attention to detail, collaboration and communication skills, and solid computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
