KWAZULU-NATAL DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ADVERTISEMENT FOR GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME 2026/28

24-MONTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME | RECRUITMENT OF 800 UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education is implementing the Graduate Internship Programme as part of its contribution to skills development initiatives. We are inviting unemployed graduates to participate in a fully structured programme that will provide valuable work experience and increase opportunities towards employment. Successful interns will receive a monthly stipend/allowance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:

  • South African citizen
  • Unemployed graduate without relevant work experience
  • Currently not studying
  • Has not previously participated in a Graduate Internship Programme
  • Prepared to enter into a contractual agreement with the Department
  • Available for placement in departmental offices across the province
  • People with disabilities are encouraged to apply

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • Recently certified copy of South African Identity Document
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Recently certified copy of Matric Certificate
  • Recently certified copy of Degree or Diploma Certificate (TVET College graduates must include a letter from DHET declaring competence and confirming graduation)
  • Full academic record indicating all modules/courses passed or completed
  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of registration with the relevant body/council (where applicable)

Note: If any of the above documents are not attached, the applicant will automatically be disqualified. If an applicant has not been contacted within 2 months of the closing date, the application must be considered unsuccessful.
