Launch Your Career with SITA

Are you a young, driven South African graduate looking for the perfect opportunity to turn your qualification into real-world experience? The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) invites unemployed graduates to apply for its 2026/27 Internship Programme — a structured, 12-month development journey designed to equip you with the professional skills and practical exposure needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

This is more than just an internship. SITA’s programme is a gateway to a meaningful career in public service. Interns who demonstrate commitment and meet the minimum performance requirements upon completion may be considered for absorption into permanent positions within the organisation. If you’re ready to invest in your future, SITA is ready to invest in you.

Where You’ll Work & What You’ll Do

Opportunities are available across multiple provinces, with the majority of positions based in Gauteng (Pretoria). Interns will be placed in non-ICT fields spanning a wide range of disciplines, giving candidates the chance to apply their academic knowledge in a dynamic government environment.

Available fields include Finance, Supply Chain Management, Human Capital Management (Environment, Wellness & OHS), Customer Operations, PSS Commercial and Analysis, IFASS Application Training, and Governance, Risk, Compliance and Integrity (GRCI). Positions are also available in Mpumalanga, the Northern Cape, and the Eastern Cape for Supply Chain Management and Customer Relations Management roles.

In total, SITA is offering 28 internship placements nationwide, making this one of the most expansive graduate programmes in the public sector this year.

SITA is committed to transformation and employment equity. People living with disabilities, White, Coloured, and Indian applicants are specifically encouraged to apply. Preference will also be given to candidates who reside within the province of the position they are applying for.
