About the Opportunity
Eskom is seeking a qualified and technically skilled Technician Engineering (Metallurgy) to join its Research and Innovation team. The position is based at the Eskom Research and Innovation Centre (ERIC) in Gauteng or at the Eskom Middelburg Office in Mpumalanga.
The successful candidate will provide technical services for engineering design and asset care within the Material & Plant Integrity environment. This role contributes directly to maintaining plant reliability, structural integrity, and compliance with engineering standards in South Africa’s power generation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical services within the metallurgy discipline
- Deliver professional engineering designs in line with applicable standards
- Contribute to asset base integrity and structural reliability
- Produce standardized technical outputs and documentation
- Consult on discipline-related technical matters
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations

Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma / National N Diploma in Engineering (NQF Level 6, 240 credits)
- P1 and P2 practical training completed
