Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Quality systems and HSE practices, coaching and influencing skills, strong computer literacy, a continuous improvement mindset, good technical product and process knowledge, fluent written and spoken English, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Role Overview
Reporting to the Industrial Program Manager, the IPL Engineer is responsible for all manufacturing aspects of assigned programmes at plant level, from programme award through to SOP plus six months. The role demands both strong technical skill and programme management capability across team leadership, product interface, production system development, and launch execution.
Key Responsibilities
In the area of team management, the IPL Engineer will coordinate work package tasks, serve as technical interface with customers and suppliers, define and coordinate plant launch team resources, and lead the Run at Rate process for assigned programmes. On product interface, the role involves verifying plant know-how availability during prototype build, analysing industrial and technical tasks as part of the Manufacturing Validation Plan, and implementing all Engineering Change Management-related changes. In production system development, the engineer will study, develop, validate, release, and set up the complete Production System using lean Capex methodologies including process flow charts, Work Combination Tables, Process Functional Analysis, layout planning, equipment and tooling definition, and material and information flow diagrams in accordance with Group standards. The role also requires participation in Process, Equipment, and Facility FMEA, and coordination of all production equipment and tooling installation and launch. At production launch level, the IPL Engineer will manage the Production Part Approval Process including Run at Rate trials, oversee the production launch, and support the production ramp-up.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must hold a National Diploma or B-Tech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Proven technical skills on product and process are essential, as is the ability to manage a functional plant programme team. Familiarity with programme finance issues including costing, P&L, and capital investment is required.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Plant HSE Manager (Pretoria) and the Country HSE Manager, the YES HSE Graduate will support the management team in ensuring legal compliance with applicable legislation and the application of Forvia’s Group HSE policy, procedures, and systems. The role offers broad, practical exposure across all areas of plant HSE management.
Key Responsibilities
The graduate will assist in collecting and reporting incident data (FR1T, FR2T) on a monthly basis, monitor and manage the distribution and sign-off of Transversal memos throughout the plant, encourage and enforce the reporting of all incidents through the near miss and incident report process, conduct daily audits and Gemba tours, assist in facilitating HSE training sessions, facilitate HSE committee meetings and take minutes, monitor HSE and Security PDCAs, assist in conducting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits, monitor and manage PPE usage across all plant areas, ensure document control processes are maintained, handle IOD enquiries from the Department of Labour, issue permits as required, manage contractor permits under the SSW system, manage and improve the HSE Training Centre, coordinate clinic activities, maintain FES requirements, and report all HSE and Security inconsistencies to the relevant manager daily.
Minimum Requirements and YES Programme Eligibility
Candidates must hold a National Diploma in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification in HSE Management, Environmental Health, or Environmental Management. Knowledge of HSE tools and methods including 5-Why methodology, work instructions, auditing, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is required. Strong written and oral communication skills, teamwork orientation, and business ethics are essential. Candidates must have zero to one year of experience in an HSE capacity, be between the ages of 18 and 35, have never previously been registered with the YES Youth Programme, and be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
