Mbuyelo Group’s Khashani Colliery is offering Bursary Programme opportunities for the 2026 academic year to South African students pursuing Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical Engineering, Geology, or Survey degrees. Preference given to Ga-Nala residents. Closing date: 30 March 2026.


Mbuyelo Group, through its subsidiary Khashani Colliery (Pty) Ltd, is inviting applications for the Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year. This bursary programme aims to support talented and dedicated South African students who are passionate about building a career in the mining and engineering sector. The bursary opportunity is open to matriculants and current university students who demonstrate academic potential and a strong interest in pursuing studies within critical technical fields that contribute to the mining industry. Fields of Study

Students pursuing or intending to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in the following disciplines are encouraged to apply:

  • BSc Metallurgical Engineering
  • BSc Geology
  • Survey

Requirements and Eligibility

To qualify for the Mbuyelo Khashani Colliery Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be South African citizens.
  • Must be currently studying or intending to study full-time towards a relevant degree at a recognized South African university.
  • Matriculants applying must demonstrate the intention to pursue a Bachelor’s degree full-time in the year following the application.
  • Applicants must have received acceptance from a university for the relevant degree programme, and the details must be reflected on the bursary application form.
  • A university admission letter must be included with the application.

Preference will be given to applicants residing in Ga-Nala within the Emalahleni Local Municipality, as part of Mbuyelo Group’s efforts to uplift local communities and promote regional development through education.
