Bidfreight Port Operations (BPO) is inviting applications from unemployed South African youth between the ages of 18 and 29 to join its 12-month Internship Programme for 2026. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in your field of study and to prepare you for a career in the Port (Maritime/Shipping) industry.
As a proud member of the Bidvest Group Ltd, BPO stands as one of the largest providers of in-port logistics in South Africa, with operations spanning every commercial cargo port in the country. The company’s core activities encompass Stevedoring, Warehousing, Terminal Operating Services, and Transportation — making it a cornerstone of South Africa’s maritime supply chain.
About the Programme
The internship runs for 12 months on a fixed-term contract basis, commencing on 01 July 2026. It is structured to give interns meaningful workplace exposure aligned with their academic qualifications, equipping them with the practical skills and industry knowledge needed to launch a successful career in port logistics and related fields.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the BPO Internship Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
∙ Must be a South African citizen
∙ Must be between 18 and 29 years of age
∙ Must be currently unemployed
∙ Must hold a tertiary qualification relevant to the chosen internship discipline
∙ Must have achieved a minimum overall academic average of 60% as reflected on your academic transcript
