Minimum Requirements

Candidates must hold a BSc or NDip in Geology or a related field. Graduates with zero to two years of experience are encouraged to apply, making this an ideal entry point into the consulting industry. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with GIS or geological software will be considered a distinct advantage. The nature of this role requires a willingness to travel and work on-site across various locations throughout South Africa. A valid driver’s licence is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute meaningfully from the outset. Core responsibilities include conducting geological field mapping, sampling, drilling supervision, and borehole logging. The Graduate Geologist will collect, analyse, and interpret geological and laboratory data, and assist in the compilation of technical reports for internal and client use.

Additional duties include the preparation of geological maps, cross-sections, and technical drawings. The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, databases, and project files in line with the company’s documentation standards. Working under the supervision of senior professionals, the Graduate Geologist will support geotechnical investigations and contribute to project planning, coordination, and the timely delivery of outputs.

Health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance is a non-negotiable aspect of all project work at Reckson Solutions. The Graduate Geologist will also be expected to engage professionally with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders whenever required, representing the company with integrity and professionalism.
