About the Role

As a Test Engineer Assistant, you will play a supporting role within the Test Engineering team, contributing to the testing, inspection, and commissioning of a wide range of electrical equipment. Your responsibilities will include working with auto reclosers, control cubicles, and switchgear, as well as assisting with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

This is an excellent entry point for a graduate or junior engineer looking to build a solid foundation in electrical testing and engineering operations within a professional and collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Test Engineering team in the testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical equipment
• Assist with the execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
• Work with auto reclosers, control cubicles, and switchgear
• Contribute to troubleshooting processes and technical documentation
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail across all assigned tasks

Minimum Requirements

• NQF 6/7 qualification in Electrical Engineering, with a specialisation in Heavy Current or Power Engineering preferred
• 0–2 years of experience in electrical testing; internship experience is acceptable
• A certified qualification such as an Advanced Diploma or BEng Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering
