The Role
As a Junior Electronic Technician, you will provide hands-on support across the full lifecycle of electronic equipment — from installation and setup through to maintenance, fault-finding, and quality verification. You will work on-site at client locations, including mines, contributing directly to the reliability and performance of critical electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the programming, loading, installation, and setup of electronic equipment at client sites, including mines
- Support assembly, disassembly, wiring, potting, and basic prototype builds under supervision
- Perform routine maintenance checks and assist with inspections and basic repairs
- Support fault-finding and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools, circuit diagrams, and technical documentation
- Assist with testing, quality control checks, and the verification of Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and Acceptance Test Criteria (ATCs)
- Use electronic testing equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports related to repairs and installations
- Label, package, and prepare repaired units for shipment or distribution
- Comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times
- Support engineers and contribute to training, continuous improvement, and sustainability initiatives
Requirements
- A BTech or diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Beginner-level experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic equipment
- Basic familiarity with a variety of electronic systems and equipment, including PCBs, control systems, instrumentation, and communication devices
