Eskom, one of Africa’s largest electricity producers, is seeking a qualified and experienced Technician Maintenance C&I (Task Grade T11) to join the Maintenance Department at Duvha Power Station in Mpumalanga. This is a permanent opportunity for a technically skilled individual who is committed to ensuring the optimum reliability and availability of plant systems in a high-performance energy environment.

About the Role

Based in Witbank, Mpumalanga, the successful candidate will form part of a dedicated maintenance team responsible for the upkeep and continuous improvement of control and instrumentation systems at one of Eskom’s key coal-fired power stations. The role requires a hands-on professional who can work independently, apply sound engineering judgement, and contribute meaningfully to the safe and efficient operation of critical plant infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimise allocated control and instrumentation systems to ensure maximum plant reliability and availability
  • Verify that correct components, spares, and services are procured in line with maintenance requirements
  • Assist with plant modifications aimed at improving system reliability and performance
  • Advise and support staff development initiatives within the maintenance team
  • Perform project and contract supervision activities as required
  • Comply strictly with the permit-to-work system and all relevant safety protocols

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must hold a National Diploma or National Diploma Technical in an engineering-related field, with completed P1 and P2 Experiential Training.

Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge of national and international engineering codes and standards, plant fundamental policies, HV/LV regulations, and quality control principles. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in computer literacy and effective communication.
