SANParks is recruiting unemployed graduates for its 24-month Internship Programme across disciplines including IT, Accounting, Law, Social Sciences, Tourism, Graphic Design, Communications, Supply Chain, and Environmental Science. A monthly stipend of R6 335.69 applies. Closing date: 22 April 2026


South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting applications from unemployed graduates for its Internship Programme. This is a structured 24-month workplace experience opportunity based across various national parks and SANParks divisions nationwide, offering a monthly stipend of R6 335.69.

SANParks is the country’s leading conservation authority, managing over 3.7 million hectares of protected land across 20 national parks. Its mandate is drawn from the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003. This internship programme offers graduates the opportunity to gain meaningful workplace experience within a world-class conservation organisation.

Available Disciplines and Placements

Internship placements are available across the following fields of study and divisions:

  • National Diploma in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance or Accounting – Tourism and Marketing
  • National Diploma in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications – Wild Card / CRM and Loyalty
  • National Diploma in Administration – Socio Economic Transformation, Kruger National Park
  • National Diploma in Business Management, Economics or Supply Chain Management – Socio Economic Transformation, Knysna / George / Plettenberg Bay / Port Elizabeth
  • National Diploma in Information Science – Communications
  • National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development or related field – ICT
  • National Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent – ICT
  • National Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Communications, Marketing or related qualification – Communications
  • National Diploma in Events Management, Hospitality, Communications or Public Relations – Communications
  • National Diploma in Accounting – Finance
  • National Diploma in Environmental Education and Awareness, or Natural and/or Social Science disciplines – Socio Economic Transformation, Groenkloof
  • National Diploma in Social Sciences (Anthropology, Sociology, Community Development, Environmental Education, Environmental Management, Public Administration, Development Studies, Heritage Studies or related fields) – Socio Economic Transformation, Port Elizabeth
  • LLB – Legal Services

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be South African citizens aged between 18 and 35, currently unemployed, and must have completed a National Diploma (NQF6) at a recognised South African Higher Education Institution in one of the qualifying fields listed above. Candidates must not have previously participated in any internship or workplace placement programme, nor have been formally employed.

Along with the completed online form, applicants must email a recent CV, certified copies of their Matric certificate, academic qualifications with transcripts, and a copy of their ID to recruitments@sanparks.org. Manual applications will not be accepted. Applicants residing outside the placement area must arrange their own accommodation and transport.
