Are you a tech-driven graduate with a passion for digital innovation, automation, and low-code development? Momentum Group is offering an exciting Risk Technology Internship within its Group Risk Management team — a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience building real digital solutions in a professional financial services environment.

This temporary position is based in Centurion, Gauteng, with some remote work flexibility. If you are eager to grow your skills in Microsoft Power Platform, data analysis, and operational risk technology, this internship is your launchpad.

About the Role

As a Risk Technology Intern, you will support the Operational Risk Technology team in designing, developing, and maintaining low-code automation solutions that digitise and optimise operational risk processes. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to live projects, and build a strong foundation in risk technology and digital innovation.

What You Will Do

You will support the development and enhancement of solutions using Microsoft Power Platform — including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI — and assist in building model-driven and canvas applications that digitise operational risk processes. You will create and maintain automated workflows, contribute to risk monitoring dashboards and reports, and perform data cleaning, validation, and basic analysis to support decision-making.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), documenting operational risk processes and system enhancements, preparing solution design documents, data models, and user guides, and supporting end users during solution rollouts. You will also assist in developing training materials and providing coordination support within the broader technology and risk team.

Who Should Apply

To be considered, candidates must hold a completed National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Higher Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk Management, Operations, or a related field with a demonstrable interest in technology. Final-year students requiring workplace-based experience will also be considered.

Required technical knowledge includes foundational understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse) — preferably at PL-900 level — basic knowledge of relational database structures, exposure to SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, and proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.

Advantageous qualifications include PL-200 or PL-400 certification, coursework or practical experience in Python or data analytics, and participation in hackathons, university IT societies, or digital innovation projects.

What Momentum Group Is Looking For

Beyond technical ability, Momentum Group seeks candidates who are detail-oriented, analytically minded, and proactive in their approach to problem-solving. You should be able to work collaboratively within a team, communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, and demonstrate accountability and adaptability in a fast-paced technology environment.
