Hitachi Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd is inviting motivated young South Africans to apply for its Electrical Apprenticeship Program. This is a structured, hands-on training opportunity designed to develop skilled electrical artisans through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical workplace experience in a professional, safety-critical environment.
Based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, the apprenticeship runs on a fixed-term basis with a monthly stipend of R6,500. Applications close on 30 April 2026.
About the Program
The Hitachi Energy Electrical Apprenticeship Program offers apprentices meaningful exposure to the electrical trade from the ground up. Participants will work alongside qualified artisans and receive structured mentorship as they build the skills required to pursue a recognised trade qualification.

What You Will Learn
Throughout the apprenticeship, participants will be trained and supported to:
- Assist with electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work across various projects
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Carry out inspections, testing, and fault-finding under the supervision of qualified professionals
- Use electrical tools, equipment, and measuring instruments safely and correctly
- Follow all health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Develop trade knowledge aligned with national occupational standards
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science
- A Technical N2 or N3 electrical qualification will be a strong advantage
- Genuine interest in electrical trades and technical work
- Willingness to learn, take instruction, and work safely at all times
- Physical fitness and the ability to work on sites and at heights when required
- Good communication skills in English
