Daimler Truck Southern Africa Ltd, in partnership with the South African Government’s Youth Employment Services (YES) programme, is offering unemployed youth a meaningful opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience over a period of 12 months. About the Programme

The YES programme is a national initiative designed to reduce youth unemployment by connecting young South Africans with real workplace experience at leading companies. Daimler Truck South Africa is proud to be part of this initiative, contributing to the economic empowerment of the country’s youth while giving participants exposure to a globally respected organisation in the commercial vehicle industry.

Selected candidates will be placed within various departments at Daimler Truck South Africa’s operations in Pretoria for a 12-month period, gaining hands-on experience in a professional corporate environment.

Who Should Apply?

This programme is open to unemployed South African youth between the ages of 18 and 29. A minimum of a Grade 12 certificate is required, although a tertiary qualification will be advantageous. Candidates must be computer literate, fluent in English, and hold a clear criminal record. Importantly, applicants must not have previously participated in any YES4Youth programme. No prior work experience is required — this opportunity is designed for those taking their first steps into the working world.

While all qualifying youth are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to candidates with qualifications or backgrounds in the following fields:

• Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or Mechatronics)
• Human Resource Management
• Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics
• Finance (Financial Management, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, or Tax)
• Information Technology
• Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or Digital Media
