The Opportunity
Clicks Group is recruiting Shop Assistants / Cashiers to fill permanent positions at both stores. These are exciting opportunities for individuals who are passionate about customer service, thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, and are ready to represent one of South Africa’s most beloved health and beauty brands. Both positions are designated as Employment Equity roles.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Shop Assistant / Cashier at Clicks, you will be the face of the brand — the first and last impression a customer takes with them when they visit the store. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include operating the point of sale system with speed and accuracy, scanning merchandise, processing payments, and actioning Clubcard rewards for customers.
You will play a key role in actively promoting the Clicks Clubcard and enrolling new members to help the store meet its participation targets. You will keep customers informed about ongoing promotions and new product ranges, ensuring they always leave the store having made the most of what Clicks has to offer.
Beyond the till, you will contribute to general merchandising and housekeeping duties, maintaining the store’s visual standards and ensuring shelves are well-stocked, neat, and appealing. Cash handling will be a regular part of your role, and you will be expected to manage this responsibility with care, accuracy, and full adherence to store procedures.
Above all, you will be expected to embody the Clicks values in every customer interaction — delivering service that is warm, professional, and genuinely helpful.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you will need a solid foundation in customer service and a positive, can-do attitude. Retail or FMCG experience is advantageous but not essential. You should be comfortable with basic maths, have good communication skills, and be computer literate.
Strong planning and organisational ability, the capacity to work well under pressure, and a natural orientation toward people and service will set you apart as a candidate.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (essential)
- Maths 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level (desirable)
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or FMCG environment (desirable)
