eMedia, in partnership with the Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA), is offering a 12-month Internship Programme for 2026/2027. Interns will be hosted at Media Film Service (Pty) Ltd in the position of Technical Intern, based in Johannesburg.

This is a structured workplace experience designed to equip young South African graduates with practical, hands-on skills in a world-class technical environment.

What You Will Do

As a Technical Intern, you will support the operations team across several functional areas:

Servicing, Repairing & Testing

  • Log repairs onto job cards using the Workshop Service/Repair Module
  • Test equipment for basic faults under supervision
  • Observe and assist in identifying and reporting faulty components for repair or replacement
  • Document and report basic fault-finding to the supervisor
  • Carry out minor repair duties or support tasks as directed

Quality Control

  • Help ensure equipment is cleaned, safely stored, and meets basic safety and service requirements

Reporting

  • Assist with completing Missing and Damage Reports (M&Ds) and tracking items moved into or out of repair status

Stocktaking

  • Support accurate company inventory and stock counts

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build and maintain positive interpersonal and team relationships to support a stable working environment and the achievement of team objectives

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) — Essential
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electronics (NQF Level 6) — Essential

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Intermediate English language proficiency
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be under the age of 35
  • Candidates who have previously participated in or are currently engaged in a SETA-funded internship are not eligible
