About the Role
The In-Service Trainee (Maintenance and Reliability) position is designed for engineering students who need workplace exposure as part of their qualification requirements, or recent graduates who want to fast-track their professional development. Based at Nafasi Water’s facility in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, this role offers a comprehensive learning experience across three critical areas:
- Maintenance Systems — Gain practical understanding of how maintenance schedules, work orders, and asset management systems operate in a live industrial facility.
- SHEQ Compliance — Learn how Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards are applied and maintained in a plant environment, building skills that are essential across all engineering disciplines.
- Plant Operations and Reliability Maintenance — Work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to understand how equipment reliability is monitored, managed, and improved to ensure uninterrupted plant performance.
This role provides a structured, supportive environment where you will be mentored by industry professionals and exposed to the full cycle of maintenance and reliability operations.
Academic Requirements
To be considered for this in-service training opportunity, you must meet the following academic criteria:
- Currently studying towards, or have recently completed, a National Diploma or Degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Or a closely related engineering field
Requirements
