About the Role

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier at Clicks Komatipoort, you will be the face of the brand — delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring smooth point-of-sale operations and well-maintained merchandising standards. Your day-to-day work directly contributes to customers feeling good and paying less, in line with the Clicks Group promise.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all point-of-sale activities accurately and efficiently, including scanning merchandise and processing payments
• Handle cash safely and responsibly at all times
• Actively promote the Clicks Clubcard and enrol new members to meet participation targets
• Inform customers about current promotions to drive sales and enhance their shopping experience
• Deliver outstanding customer service by acting as a brand ambassador — visible, friendly, and professional
• Maintain merchandising and housekeeping standards in line with store and visual merchandise guidelines
• Stay up to date with product knowledge, ranges, promotions, and in-store events
• Uphold and drive the Clicks Group values and vision to be the customer’s first choice in health and beauty retail

What You Need to Qualify

Education:

• Essential: Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Desirable: Mathematics and English at 50% or above at Grade 12 level

Experience:

• Desirable: Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG environment

Knowledge & Skills:

• Basic maths and numeracy ability
• Understanding of retail/FMCG merchandising and promotions principles
• Familiarity with stock management procedures
• Strong customer service orientation
• Good communication and computer literacy skills
• Planning, organising, and problem-solving ability

• Following instructions and procedures
• Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
• Ability to work well with people and cope with pressures and setbacks
