Gateway Airports Authority Limited (GAAL) is inviting applications from unemployed South African graduates for its 2026/27 Internship Programme. Based at Polokwane International Airport in Limpopo, this 12-month internship offers hands-on experience within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) environment of a working airport — a rare opportunity to build practical skills in enterprise IT, networking, and technical support within the aviation sector.

Successful interns will receive a monthly stipend of R7,000 for the duration of the programme.

What You Will Do

As an ICT Intern, you will be embedded within GAAL’s ICT team and exposed to the full range of technology operations that keep a modern airport running. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the maintenance and support of airport IT systems
• Supporting network management activities, including LAN, WAN, and connectivity services
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting for computers, printers, software, and related technologies
• Assisting end-users with day-to-day IT issues and service requests
• Maintaining IT documentation, records, and system logs
• Supporting the ICT team with infrastructure monitoring and system administration tasks
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and information security procedures

Who Should Apply

This internship is open to unemployed South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 who hold a Bachelor’s Degree or a Three-Year National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or 7) in Information Technology or a related qualification. No prior work experience is required — this programme is designed for graduates who are ready to take their first step into the world of work.

Preference will be given to persons living with disabilities, White, Coloured, and Indian candidates, and applicants residing within Limpopo Province.
