eThekwini Municipality Internship Programme 2026/2027

eThekwini Municipality invites unemployed SA graduates and TVET students to apply for its 2026/2027 Internship Programme across Engineering, Finance, Law, Administration, Humanities, Agriculture, Health Sciences, and Art & Design. Stipends: R2 927.79–R8 902.15/month. Closes 17 July 2026.


Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (On-site)
Duration: Up to 24 months (University graduates) / Up to 18 months (TVET graduates with N6 and practical training)
Stipend: R2 927.79 – R8 902.15 per month (depending on qualification level)
Closing Date: 17 July 2026

Programme Benefits
Interns will gain practical workplace experience, develop professional and technical competencies, receive mentorship and workplace guidance, participate in workplace projects and assignments, improve their employability and career readiness, and gain exposure to municipal operations and service delivery processes.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be unemployed South African citizens with a recognized qualification relevant to the advertised discipline. Applicants must have no prior work experience in the relevant field, require workplace exposure or experiential learning, be available for the full internship period, and be willing to comply with all programme requirements, including assessments, training, and workplace activities.

Important Information
Applicants who have previously participated in or benefited from an internship/work experience programme for 12 months or longer will not be considered.
