BBD, an international software solutions company with over 40 years of experience, is opening applications for its 2027 Graduate Programme. This is your chance to join a company that has built its reputation on solving complex business challenges through smart, scalable technology, working across cloud engineering, data science, product design, and software engineering.
About BBD
BBD combines deep technical expertise with practical business understanding to deliver solutions built for scale, resilience, and real-world impact. With hubs across multiple cities globally, the company has built a strong culture around distributed delivery and flexible hybrid work. Their environment is professional without being rigid — a flat structure that encourages openness, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across teams and disciplines.
Who BBD Is Looking For
BBD wants passionate, newly qualified graduates holding a Diploma, Bachelor’s, Honours, Master’s, or Doctorate in BSc, BEng, BCom, or BIT, majoring in:
- Computer Science
- Computer and Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Informatics
If you don’t have a formal qualification but have a strong portfolio of technology work you can demonstrate, you may still be considered.
To qualify, you need to:
- Be immersed in and actively engaged with technology or coding beyond your formal studies
- Be a newly qualified graduate from a recognised university or learning programme
- Have a high academic average
- Be genuinely passionate about building software and solving problems creatively
If you’ve ever looked at a daily frustration and thought “there has to be a better way to fix this with software,” and actually tried to build something about it, BBD wants to hear from you.
What You Can Earn
Graduates joining the Software Engineering track in engineering and computer science fields start from R40,000. Business Analysis graduates start between R30,000 and R35,000. Exceptional academic performers may be considered for higher offers. Terms and conditions apply.
Life on the Grad Programme
BBD’s Grad Programme bridges the gap between university theory and industry practice. You’ll start working on real client teams from Day 1, while building technical depth through structured Level Ups throughout the year. You’ll learn alongside senior mentors and peers, with many graduates reporting they learned more in their first eight weeks at BBD than during their entire degree.
