About the Programme

AfriSam’s Engineer-in-Training programme offers a structured 24-month contract designed for newly qualified Mechanical and Electrical graduates seeking to gain the practical experience needed to successfully enter the job market. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world industrial setting, working alongside experienced engineers and technical teams.

Successful applicants will be based at various quarries across AfriSam’s Construction Materials Business Unit in Gauteng and Mpumalanga throughout their training period. This exposure gives trainees a comprehensive understanding of operations within a large-scale industrial and mining environment, covering plant maintenance, equipment reliability, safety compliance, and technical problem-solving.

Who Should Apply

Opportunities will be given to graduates who have demonstrated an excellent academic track record on completion of their BSc or BEng degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. AfriSam is looking for driven, capable individuals who are eager to build a long-term career in the construction materials and mining sector.
