Ekurhuleni West TVET College (Corporate Centre) is inviting applications for an IT Learnership at its Corporate Centre campus, offering entry-level candidates the opportunity to gain hands-on technical experience while working toward a recognised qualification in the ICT field.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology (IT)

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be trained and mentored across a broad range of IT support functions, including:

  • Installing hardware, software and device drivers on standalone computers
  • Assessing users’ technical needs and providing appropriate solutions
  • Installing and configuring computer networks, including LAN and WAN
  • Managing network configurations to ensure effective communication between networked computers
  • Testing computers, peripherals, hardware and software for functionality
  • Upgrading software, patches and operating systems on an ongoing basis
  • Installing and configuring monitors, keyboards and printers
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems
  • Acting as a technical resource to assist users in resolving computer issues
  • Responding to tickets and emails relating to users’ computer problems
  • Installing and updating antivirus software to keep systems secure
  • Setting up and organising IP addresses appropriately
  • Training users on new software
  • Analysing network problems and managing preventative maintenance procedures
  • Performing any other delegated duties

This learnership offers a structured pathway into the ICT sector, combining practical workplace exposure with skills development under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Applicants must complete and submit a NEW Z83 form, effective from 1 January 2021. Applications using the old Z83 form will be disqualified. The form is available on the College website or from any Public Service Department.
