Join Givaudan’s two-year Operations Leadership Programme in Johannesburg. Rotate across EH&S, Supply Chain, Commercial and more, then step into real departmental leadership. Ideal for Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering graduates ready to lead from day one.

Givaudan is the global leader in flavour and fragrance creation, with 79 production sites worldwide and more than 250 years in the business of taste, scent, and beauty innovation. If you want to build a career in operations leadership from the ground up, this two-year programme is designed to take you there.

About the Programme

The Operations Leadership Programme combines structured learning with hands-on project management experience across two core phases:

Functional Exposure — You’ll rotate through key business areas outside core manufacturing and production, building cross-functional understanding of how the operation fits together. Areas of exposure include EH&S, Operational Accounting, HR, FC&A, Supply & Technology, Commercial, Customer Care, PID & Regulatory, Regional Supply Chain, and Samples.

Leadership Development — As you progress, you’ll transition into a genuine leadership role within Givaudan, developing advanced people-leadership skills and taking responsibility for the tactical daily operation of a department. Throughout the programme you’ll manage or contribute to real projects, not simulated ones.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • A genuine interest in manufacturing and operations leadership
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and the confidence to take on responsibility early
  • Willingness to relocate or work across functions as the programme requires

Preference will be given to suitable candidates from designated groups, in line with Givaudan’s employment equity goals.

Why Givaudan

You’ll be working within a global business built on kindness, humility, and a spirit of adventure — one that shapes the taste and scent experiences behind products people use every day. You’ll learn from high-performing leaders and caring colleagues across one of the most established names in the flavour and fragrance industry, with the backing of a company generating billions in global revenue and over 17,000 employees worldwide.

This isn’t a rotation for the sake of rotation — it’s a deliberate two-year runway into a leadership role, with real accountability from early on.
