About the Role
The Risk and Compliance Trainee will provide end-to-end administrative and coordination support to the Risk & Compliance function at Bayobab. The role centres on supporting the Control Self Assessment (CSA) process, which evaluates control design adequacy and operating effectiveness, retains supporting evidence, coordinates Control Owner reviews, and manages control remediation. The Trainee will help keep this process accurate, complete, and on schedule while developing hands-on experience within the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide input in strategic meetings and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives
- Facilitate ad hoc meetings with relevant stakeholders
- Escalate issues with significant time, scope, or cost impact
- Prepare documentation for sign-off and decision-making on tactical changes
- Support execution and alignment with the functional strategy
- Compile status and progress reports
- Support risk mitigation and control input
- Assist with research, creation, and quality assurance of presentations in line with MTN’s corporate communication standards
- Collate performance metrics for reporting to senior management and external stakeholders
- Assist in curating and maintaining knowledge base content
- Support the production of contract annexes, training documentation, and business presentations
- Assist in defining and updating governance policies and strategies
- Provide general coordination and administrative support to the department
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Information Systems, Economics, Law, or a related discipline
Experience: 0–2 years’ work experience (including work done as a student)
