About the Programme

LH Marthinusen, a division of ACTOM (Pty) Ltd, is hiring graduates to join its Graduate Development Programme. Successful applicants will be awarded a 12-month limited duration contract with the possibility of permanent employment.

Training is aligned with the requirements of ECSA for professional registration after 3 to 5 years. Registration remains the responsibility of the trainee.

Who Should Apply

We are looking for results-driven B.Eng or BSc graduates who want to work on projects that draw on technical expertise, teamwork and creativity, and who are committed to continuous learning and professional development.

You must have completed a B.Eng or BSc in one of the following fields:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electromechanical Engineering
• Electrical (Power) Engineering
• Aeronautical Engineering
• Industrial Engineering
• Health and Safety Management

Responsibilities

As part of your training, you will:

• Assess project and task requirements
• Measure the performance of mechanical or electrical components and devices
• Liaise with internal customers and external customers, including suppliers, on technical issues
• Undertake relevant research and present designs and ideas to managers and clients
• Adhere to SHERQ Management regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
• Test, evaluate, modify and retest products
• Write monthly progress reports, manuals and other relevant documentation
• Analyse and interpret complex data
• Formulate and present internal technical courses
• Carry out production functions given by your mentor or assignee

Working Conditions

The work involves physical, sensory and mental demands in a factory or workshop environment, as well as on Eskom Power Stations in Mpumalanga. Practical training will mainly take place at the factory workshop and at Eskom Power Stations.

The bulk of the mechanical positions are linked to a 4-year Eskom contract. Preference will therefore be given to individuals who originate from Volksrust, Amersfoort, Witbank, Middelburg, Delmas and Lephalale. The region the individual originates from will be taken into consideration.
