Position Overview: Afrimat Iron Ore (Pty) Ltd is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering graduate to join our team as an intern. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mining industry, working closely with seasoned professionals in a supportive and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of site maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Participate in risk analysis and contribute to the compilation of Codes of Practice (COP).
- Engage in process improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
- Identify and propose cost-saving initiatives.
- Uphold and promote safe working practices in all tasks.
Requirements:
- National Diploma or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Valid South African ID.
- Must be a resident of the Northern Cape.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Honesty and reliability in all professional dealings.
- Adaptability to change and a proactive approach to challenges.
