Palabora Copper (Pty) Ltd is excited to announce the launch of the Artisan Aide Skills Programme, offering a fantastic opportunity for the youth of Ba-Phalaborwa to gain hands-on experience and valuable training in the mining industry. This fixed-term, three-month contract will provide selected candidates with the skills required to start a successful career in various artisan trades.

Available Disciplines:
The Artisan Aide Skills Programme includes the following specializations:

• Electrical
• Mechanical (Fitting, Fitting and Turning)
• Instrumentation
• Plater/Boilermaking

Participants will engage in structured training sessions with qualified artisans, gaining exposure to real-world working environments. By the end of the program, successful candidates who demonstrate technical aptitude may be invited to continue their training in Artisan Development learnerships, opening doors to long-term career opportunities in the mining sector.

Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the Artisan Aide Skills Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
• Education: A Grade 12 certificate is required.
• Unemployment Status: Applicants must be unemployed South African citizens.
• Health: Must be medically fit for work in the mining environment.
• Community Residency: Applicants must reside in the Ba-Phalaborwa communities (Maseke, Lulekani, Makhushane, Namakgale, Benfarm, Selwane, Mashishimale, Phalaborwa Town). Proof of residence must be submitted.
• Pre-Screening: Shortlisted candidates will undergo assessments and interviews to evaluate their potential.
