We are currently seeking a skilled APEX Support Engineer to join our Product Development team at our Richmond Park offices in Cape Town. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of world-class electronic products that power smart systems for logistics, mobility, and renewable energy applications.
About the Role:
As an APEX Support Engineer, you’ll act as a critical link between our customers and the product engineering team. You’ll provide first-line technical support, troubleshoot complex systems, assist with firmware updates, and contribute to continuous product improvement. This role is ideal for a technically-minded problem solver with a background in electronics or mechatronics and a passion for hands-on support and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and document product test setups.
- Analyse product and system behaviour and provide detailed feedback to engineers.
- Support customers using i10H trucks, MCS, and SGS systems with troubleshooting and solutions.
- Perform electrical fault finding, bug tracking, and remote firmware updates.
- Open and manage JIRA tickets and support the engineering team in resolving technical issues.
- Collaborate with tech support and development teams to resolve issues and improve products.
- Document and communicate recurring problems, test results, and proposed solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
- Product Support or
- Customer Service or
- Electronic Testing and Repairs
- Experience with renewable energy equipment is an advantage.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Programming skills (Java, C, C++, etc.)
- Exposure to design tools such as ALTIUM, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360
- Experience in IoT or Power Electronics
- Additional qualifications in renewable energy or related fields
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required

- Highly computer literate with a solid grasp of operating systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- A self-motivated team player with a problem-solving mindset
- Ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally
