We are currently inviting applications for In-Service Training opportunities at our Kempton Park facility. These placements are designed for students who require structured workplace experience to complete their qualifications, and offer a genuine platform to gain hands-on technical skills in a world-class industrial environment.

  • Boilermaker
  • Fitter
  • Toolmaker
  • Electro Mechatronics / Electrical

About the Programme

The In-Service Training Programme provides students with structured workplace exposure directly aligned to their academic curriculum requirements. Participants will work alongside experienced industry professionals, developing practical competencies, deepening their technical knowledge, and building the foundational skills required to successfully complete their qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who are serious about their careers in engineering and the technical trades.

Key Responsibilities

Participants will be expected to engage fully with the structured training plan and perform tasks and duties as directed by supervisors and mentors. Responsibilities include complying with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, maintaining a professional attitude, and demonstrating a consistent willingness to learn. Trainees will be required to maintain and submit logbooks and training records as required by both their academic institution and Sandvik, and will work progressively toward achieving all required practical competencies.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • N6 Engineering qualification relevant to the applicable trade, requiring practical training to obtain a National Diploma or equivalent qualification requiring in-service training
  • A letter from an accredited Training Institution confirming the requirement for in-service training
  • Certified copy of academic transcript and qualification results
  • Must be a South African citizen
