Are you ready to make an impact in the oil and gas industry? NOV Inc., a global leader with over 150 years of expertise, is looking for a motivated and innovative Associate Hydraulics Engineer to join our Pressure Control Group in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in the design, development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge hydraulic control systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and developing hydraulic control systems for diverse applications.
  • Prepare Hydraulic Flow Diagrams, Bills of Material, technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering reports.
  • Perform simulations and analyses using tools like MATLAB or Simulink to optimize system performance.
  • Participate in rigorous testing and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hydraulic solutions into product lines.
  • Support troubleshooting and problem resolution during development and production phases.
  • Stay current with industry trends and contribute innovative ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing and quality assurance teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Coursework or practical experience in hydraulic systems and controls is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
  • Basic understanding of control theory and fluid dynamics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Internship or co-op experience in an engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and hydraulic circuit design (AutoCAD and Creo preferred).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to hydraulic systems.
